I am a creative director with a track record of creating intelligent, effective advertising, as well as things that maybe aren’t advertising. My favorite clients are the complex pieces of business that you wouldn’t think should be on stage at Cannes.

Nevertheless, I have been recognized by most major award shows, including Cannes, The One Show, The Clios, The Art Directors Club, D & AD, and the MOMA AICP. I have won Effies and something called a Promax. I have made a number of those “most awarded” lists over the years. And was part of the leadership team that drove McCann Health to several Agency of Year rankings.

As rewarding as little statues are, I’m just as proud that I’ve also been called “the best boss I ever had” a few times as well. A number of account people have (I think fondly) called me “a partner who asks too many questions about the clients’ business.”

My new business lead would describe me as the person she wants leading concepting on a pitch- and front and center in the room during it. And, on a good day, I’m also called “Dad” by two kids who serve to remind me that people need a reason to care about the advertising we pour so much time and energy into.

Also, I speak decent Mandarin but can’t read it.
